Abstract

The role of the teacher in the teaching process cannot be replaced by even the most modern machines, radios, tape recorders or computers. There are still too many human elements, such as attitudes, value systems, feelings, motivation, habits, etc. which are the result of the teaching process, which cannot be achieved through these tools. Therefore, as teachers, we are required to increase the motivation of students with the aim of achieving an optimal learning and teaching activity process, and teachers play a very important role in the success of creating learning experiences that provide benefits for students. As motivators, teachers are also required to increase enthusiasm. student learning, understanding the level of ability of each student and directing students' learning talents and interests. The Cooperative Learning Model is a form of learning in which students learn and work in small groups collaboratively whose members consist of four to six people with a heterogeneous group structure. In this learning, a broader interaction will be created, namely communication interactions carried out between teachers and students, students and students, and students and teachers. Improvement From the results of observations, student activities experienced an increase with a number of 149 and an average of 7.8. From the results of observations of teacher teaching activities, there were changes that occurred from cycle I to cycle II. In each learning cycle, the teacher is able to convey the material smoothly. However, the teacher's actions in cycle I were able to get an average of 2.7 in the good category. The changes that occurred in cycle II were the increase in the average of teacher activities to 3 in the same category. This shows that the application of the talking stick method was successfully used in delivering material on the dynamics and trends of changes in the pedosphere and its impact on life on earth well and smoothly
