Abstract

Tourism is seen as one of the largest economic sectors in the world that contributes to economic growth, job creation, and cultural exchange between countries. Global tourism is not just a physical journey, but also a visual experience influenced by media and popular culture, so the tourism industry continues to develop to meet these expectations (John Urry, 1990). This sector is growing rapidly thanks to advances in technology, transportation, and digitalization that facilitate tourist access to various destinations. Qualitative research is a type of exploration that reveals the reality, conditions, peculiarities, factors and conditions that occur when the exploration is straightforward and presents what it is by utilizing sentences In recent years, Pulau Pagang has been the object of research related to ecotourism, coral reef sustainability, and natural resource mapping. Studies in 2020 highlighted sustainability-based ecotourism development strategies to maintain a balance between tourism exploitation and environmental conservation. However, the conditions owned by the Pagang Island tourist attraction still need to be developed again. It is necessary to develop facilities that are carried out carefully accompanied by good handling. that the condition of the tourist attraction can be seen from its transportation access. Access to transportation is not optimal enough because the operational costs are quite expensive to go to Pagang Island.
