The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program is a policy aimed at enhancing the quality of human resources by meeting the nutritional needs of students. The provision of nutritious, balanced meals plays a vital role in maintaining health, supporting physical growth, boosting cognitive development, and preparing students to engage optimally in the learning process. Schools play a strategic role in the program's success, as they serve as the environment where direct, daily interaction with students occurs. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program and examine its impact on student health and academic achievement at SMPN 1 Ranah Pesisir. A descriptive research method was employed, utilizing both field studies and literature reviews. The study subjects consisted of 60 students: 30 from class VIII.1 and 30 from class VIII.2. Data were gathered through observations of the program's implementation and assessments of student conditions and responses during learning activities, followed by descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the Free Nutritious Meal Program positively impacts the fulfillment of students' nutritional needs, enhances learning readiness and concentration, and fosters active student participation in the learning process. Furthermore, the program helps raise student awareness regarding the importance of healthy eating habits and creates more equitable opportunities for all students to access nutritious food, regardless of their families' economic backgrounds. Thus, the Free Nutritious Meal Program serves not only to meet nutritional needs but also as a strategy to improve the quality of learning and human resource development within the school environment. To ensure the program's benefits are sustainable, effective management, oversight, and collaboration among the government, schools, parents, and the community are essential.
